GENERAL CAUSE OF INFERTILITY AMONG COUPLES (FOR MEN AND WOMEN)
Complete
ignorance about the mechanics of intercourse, is one of the major problem that
hinder pregnancy among couples, other reasons are other sexual difficulties
that disrupt fertility which among others include; frigidity and impotence.
Another
known cause is ovulation in the woman, a woman who ovulates only occasionally and
has a partner with low sperm count will greatly reduce the chance of pregnancy.
There are
other physical reasons or conditions that hamper a couples chance of getting
pregnant.
CAUSES OF INFERTILITY IN A MAN
If any
disorder such as infections like prostatitis, mumps, blockage of the vas
deference, epididymitis or any venereal diseases affects;
- The total number of sperm produced during ejaculation and
- The number of viable sperm produced.
Spermatozoa
are produced at moderate testicles temperature,
undescended testicles are
too warm to produce healthy sperm. Too high
or too low temperature may not encourage the production of viable sperm. Study
show that some men may become temporarily infertile in hot environments or from
wearing tight under-wears that holds the testicles too close to the body.
Varicose
veins of the spermatic cord increases the blood flow of the testicles, and keep
them too warm, although this is seen on rear occasions. Take intake of certain
drugs can also affect a man’s fertility, chromosome abnormalities, cystic
fibrosis, and irradiation of the testicles can contribute also.
CAUSES OF INFERTILITY IN A WOMAN
